Why Tungsten?
1. Tungsten weights outperform traditional lead sinkers due to their higher density. Achieving the same weight, tungsten weights are smaller in size, allowing for longer casting distances while maintaining a low profile for fish.
2. When using setups like the Texas rig, tungsten weights are game-changers because of their sensitivity, providing quicker and sharper feedback upon hitting the ground, enhancing your ability to controt your bait's motion underwater.
3. As an alternative, tungsten weights help protect mammals and birds from lead poisoning. Several states including Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, and Vermont restrict the use of certain lead fishing equipment (such as sinkers, jig heads, and ned rigs) in freshwater fishing.
